TRUMP’S NEW CUBA POLICY A LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY: President Donald Trump’s move to reinstate limits on travel and commerce with Cuba could result in lost economic opportunities for American corporations, small businesses and farmers and ranchers — instead of forcing Cuba’s leadership to rein in human rights abuses, reports Pro Trade’s Adam Behsudi this morning. Trump later today is expected to take the stage of a Miami theater where he’ll unveil new policy to prohibit U.S. companies from direct financial transactions with entities controlled by Cuban military and intelligence services. The policy will also tighten travel to the island by eliminating self-initiated tours that all but opened up Cuba to American tourism. (Tourism is banned by federal law, but the Obama administration allowed people to plan their own trips, as opposed to group excursions, if they scheduled educational exchange activities. There has been little to no enforcement of that requirement, however.)…
