FYI: Advisory Team member for the Farm and Ranch Stress Assistance Network-Northeast: Training opportunity: Investing in Men’s Mental Health

There’s no question that the teachings of The Man Box have contributed to the global crisis of men’s mental health. Men are 3.7 times more likely to die by suicide than women. The pandemic has only deepened the urgency for us to act. Too many men are suffering silently, and refusing to ask for or accept help. Too many men are dying by suicide every day.

Next Wednesday, June 16 at 1 p.m. ET, we’ll come together online to discuss how the teachings of The Man Box have created an ecosystem where men are struggling to deal with the extreme experiences of the pandemic and racial injustices. We know that if we don’t deal with our own trauma, grief, and struggles, it spills out into other areas of our lives. We will explore ways we can prioritize our own mental health and learn how corporations like Harry’s are invested in being a part of the solution.

A little bit about our guests:

  • Maggie Hureau is the head of social impact at Harry’s, a wonderful partner of ours that has committed to help 500,000 men by 2021.
  • J.R. Martinez is an Army veteran, burn survivor, actor, New York Times best-selling author, and passionate advocate for healthy manhood and overcoming trauma. We are fortunate to have his voice on A Call to Men’s Board of Directors.

We hope to see you online next Wednesday and hear your voice in the mix!
