Business Opportunity Specialist – Central & Western MA

The Business Opportunity Specialist’s duties and responsibilities include providing economic development outreach expertise and grant coordination support to ensure efficient operation of and training for small business engagement activities. This position supports the technical assistance providers throughout the region in understanding the small business training program and facilitating referrals, along with serving as the point of contact for RCAP regional engagement for this program. The Business Opportunity Specialist will serve as the main point of contact for the organization’s small business activities, engage with external partners throughout the region to better engage in the small business program, and will assist the office in securing external funding to leverage existing programs for greater impact. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to: provides analysis and administrative support related to compliance and reporting requirements, assists with research on additional grant opportunities and new business lines, works with marketing team to design strategies that reach rural business in the region; assist with workshop preparation and delivery, and maintains programmatic database and shared resources that supports small business programming.
