The Dominican company Industrias Banilejas (Induban) signed an agreement with Goya Foods for the exclusive distribution of Café Santo Domingo brand products in the northeastern region of the United States.
According to the company, Café Santo Domingo is one of the most important coffee brands and is considered the most emblematic in the Dominican Republic and abroad. The collaboration between the two companies was signed by Joe Perez, Senior Vice President of Goya Foods, and Manuel Pozo Perello, CEO of Induban.
“This agreement places Café Santo Domingo in a more than privileged position, being one of the first purely Dominican brands capable of reaching the large U.S. market through a leading distribution company in this country,” expressed Pozo Perelló, who also highlighted the milestone that this agreement means for the company and the Dominican Republic.
Also present at the signing of the agreement were Eddie Pacheco, Sales Execution Manager of Goya Foods, and Nelson de los Santos, Induban’s International Market Sales Manager.
In recent years, Goya Foods has expanded its product offering with leading food brands from Latin America. These brands, including Café Santo Domingo, will reach thousands of independent supermarkets, regional supermarket chains, and national chains.
Café Santo Domingo is a Caribbean coffee brand that combines the best coffees roasted to perfection and converges in a complex aroma between hazelnuts, caramel, and vanilla. When tasted, it offers a perfect balance between the natural sweetness, the soft acidity, and the subtle bitterness characteristic of coffee, according to Induban.
Likewise, Pozo Perelló indicated that the size of the coffee consumption market in the United States and the possibility of having an exceptional distribution chain are unique opportunities. He also stressed that this effort is part of an aggressive expansion strategy in the United States, including direct sales through the leader in the e-commerce channel, Amazon.
Industrias Banilejas S.A.S. (Induban) is the leading coffee producer in the Dominican Republic. It was founded in 1945 to dedicate itself to the purchase, processing, and sale of coffee and later became an exporter of Dominican gold coffee, highly recognized in the United States and Europe. Café Santo Domingo is the leading brand in the sales category and the most emblematic of the Caribbean country.
