Intertribal Agricultural Council (IAC) Disaster Assistance

“The Markup” is IAC’s policy brief update to keep Indian Country in the loop on what is going on in the Washington, D.C. beltway. A “markup” is when a congressional committee meets to offer changes, amendments, and to debate legislation, and we hope the information provided in the IAC Markup policy brief will provide the same opportunity for knowledge sharing and involvement in the process.

IAC, IFAI, and FLAG Want to Know How We Can Help You Access Disaster Assistance

The Intertribal Agriculture Council (IAC), the Indigenous Food and Agriculture Initiative (IFAI), and the Farmers’ Legal Action Group (FLAG) are partnering to provide Native producers with technical assistance and resources about accessing disaster and/or debt relief. As Native producers continue to confront multiple natural disasters and disrupted markets in the wake of the pandemic, we know that you have many unanswered questions about access to disaster relief aid or debt relief.

Please submit questions about disaster/debt relief through this form. You can submit more than one question at a time, or come back later with future questions and submit again. Once your question has been submitted, IAC, IFAI, and FLAG staff will review it and will reach out to you with resources and information specific to your situation to help you navigate these difficult times. In addition to direct questions and answers through this form, we will be developing disaster and debt relief resources on an ongoing basis that you can access on the IAC website at Any resources we provide or responses we give you are strictly for educational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice nor create an attorney/client relationship.
